Beauty: Clean & Clear - Advantage, Clear and Soothe Foaming Wash

I went to my local Superdrug a few days ago, as i was looking for a product that would help these bad breakouts that i keep getting.
I have been reading a few reviews lately on the new Clean & Clear products and thought i might as well give them a go.

I bought the Clean & Clear - Advantage, clear and soothe foaming wash.

I never used to be sure about Clean & Clear as when i was younger i felt that these products made my breakouts worse and also dried my skin out a lot.

So i have been using this for a few days now morning and night and i can honestly say that so far so good. Although i have only been using this a little while, my spots have become much better and i haven't had anymore breakouts.

This products also doesn't dry my skin out and and doesn't feel tight after using it.

How i use this product:

When i use this foaming wash morning and night all i do is put 1 pump on to my hands, as a little goes a long way, and then gently massage it in to my skin. I quite like the smell of this product its not strong and overpowering like some face washes. I then wait a few seconds and then rinse my face and gently pat dry with my towel.

I have really high hopes for this product and will continue to use it. My opinion has changed over Clear & Clear and i am very pleased with the new products they have brought out. As this product is Oil-free i have noticed how my skin isn't as oily anymore and when i wake up in the morning how fresh my skin feels.

I will be doing a review on this after i have been using it a while longer to say weather it worked, what my thoughts are on it and my overall rating of this foaming wash.

Please let me know in the comment section below, your thoughts on this product and weather you have tried it :)

Lifestyle: I got my Helix pierced!

I decided when i was in town the other day that i was going to get my ear pierced!
I wanted something different and the guy who did the piercings recommended getting my Helix pierced!

Luckily he put numbing spray on so it didn't hurt, but i will admit that it did hurt a little afterwards and is still a little sore now... but i love it!!

As you can see i also have my tragus pierced. I had this done quite a few years ago.
I also have the top right hand side of my ear pierced as well as both my lobes done on each ear. When i was 16 i got my bellybutton pierced and when i was 17 i got my nose pierced, but i don't really wear my nose stud anymore as it doesn't seem to suit me. I love my piercings, but i don't think i will have anymore done, not just yet anyway!

Lifestyle: Little Treats

If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter then you will know about my new found love for peanut butter!

Due to being restricted with certain foods I can eat, I always thought peanut butter had dairy in, but how wrong was I!
It actually has no dairy in it what so ever.

I went to my local super market and bought an organic jar of peanut butter. This one is by Whole Earth, and let me tell you, it's AMAZING!

As you can see in the photo above I really went for it, and put jam on top! Some of my friends are always telling me how great it is on top of peanut butter, it tastes awesome, they were right. But maybe it's a little too awesome as i'm addicted to this stuff! It's great in the morning for breakfast.

This one by Whole Earth is:

Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans
Source of Protein
High source of Fibre

I also went to Asda and found this by Sun-Pat.
It's called Choc-a-nut.
This also has no dairy in it as it is just peanut butter and cocoa powder.
It's delicious :)

I also love to snack on these:

Crystallized Papaya.
They are a delicious little treat. In fact i have just been eating some whilst writing this blog post :)
You can get these from most local Health shops.

I also have another new found love for Avocados!

I went to Nando's the other day after V Festival and had just a salad with chicken and Avocado with mixed seeds. It was very yummy. I have since become very fond of Avocado's as they taste amazing. They are also very good for you. I have seen a lot of people writing how they put mashed avocado on toast, so i am definitely going to try this :)

Why Avocados are good for you:

The combination of B6, C and D, riboflavin and manganese found in avocados helps maintain a strong immune system.
They are also a good source of vitamins A and E,
Avocados are high in omega-3, which reduces the risk of heart disease and lecithin, a type of fatty acid crucial for healthy nervous tissue.
Eating avocados has been shown to lower cholesterol levels
The potassium in avocados helps fight fatigue and depression, both of which reduce your ability to concentrate.
Avocados are naturally high in fat, but it is mostly healthy, monounsaturated fat that is essential for plump, youthful skin. They also stimulate production of anti-wrinkle collagen, which, together with vitamin E, makes them the best food to eat for a healthy complexion.

For a mood-boost, eat a small avocado every day for a week or so. Otherwise, eat a half or whole avocado several times a week.

Lifestyle: V Festival 2013

This last weekend, i went to V Festival in Stafford... and it was amazing.
Kings of Leon headlined on the Saturday night and Beyoce headlined on Sunday night.
My other favourite artists bands from the weekend that i saw were Lawson, Travis, Two Door Cinema Club, Paloma Faith, The Fratellis, The Vaccines, The Courteeners, Gabrielle Aplin, Everything Everything, Stereophonics.
It was such a great weekend. We camped from the Friday night and left Monday morning.

I went with my best friend Gareth to V Festival, ( Who i am in a band with 'Romantic Idols.')
We were so tired when we got there, as what should have been a 45 minute drive took 6 hours because of the traffic getting in to V festival!
But we didnt mind, we listened to Muse, Arctic Monkeys and The Vaccines whilst waiting!
So it was all good :) This is my third year of going.

Here is a photo of me after we had put the tent up. The weather was lovely on the Friday, on Saturday it rained a bit and was quite cold, but Suday was lovely, it was really hot and didn't rain.

What I wore

I took my new Parka to V with me that i got from Very.co.uk. My bf Shane got me the t-shirt which is from Fire Trap. The wellies are from Internacionale and my shorts are from Collections. I also had another t-shirt that i wore at the weekend, Shane also got me another one which was from Bench, ( I havent got a photo of the other top, but it was lovely. )
The Rucksack is from Primark, i got this a couple of years ago and i also wore long grey socks underneathe my wellies, these were also from Primark.

Where's My Sleeping Bag?

At the time i didn't  find it very funny, but i do laugh about it now..... i forgot to take my Sleeping Bag with me!!! Luckily two other people who we went with had a blanket i could borrow, as it got very cold in the night!! Gareth also opened his sleeping bag up for us to share, which was very sweet of him, so i was a lot more warmer in the night. I wont be forgetting my sleeping bag next year!
Oh and i also forgot my memory card for my camera so i couldt take many photos!! :(

Please let me know if you Went to V Festival 2013 and who your favourite bands/artists were.

Beauty: My Skin Care Tips

I thought I would share with you my skin care tips.
In the past I neglected my skin and it is only in the last few years that I feel my skin is at its best.
I feel that diet and keeping yourself healthy plays a huge part in how your skin is.

Diet

Since I have cut out all the crap (to put it bluntly) I have noticed how much better my skin looks and feels. Now i'm not telling everyone to do this, as it is not for everyone, but I myself have cut out dairy from my diet, i have also cut out fried and roasted foods. No more takeaways for me!
The key is if you do not want to cut out these foods together then you just need to have smaller amounts of these tyoes of foods.
After all 'You are what you eat.'
Im not a skincare expert in any way, but though years of experience and trial and error, i now know what works for me in order to keep my skin at its best.
Another thing in which i found works well for keeping my skin healthy are herbal teas. This ca also include fruit teas. After drinking these for a little while i noticed how beneficial they are for the skin as frrom drinking these my eczema on my arms and legs just went! I knew it was the herbal teas that did because i left drinking them off for about a week and my eczema came back!
It might be hard to  believe as i though nothing would get rid of it on my skin after years of having it, but it's the truth, it really worked!

Antioxidant-rich foods can also have a major positive effect on your skin's health and appearance.
Eating fish can help help skin, I also have one cod liver oil capsule every night before bed. I have noticed a real difference since taking the cod liver oil, and my hair is a lot healthier too.
Apples, Avocados, Bananas, Blackberries and Blueberries are great for the skin.

Health

Keeping yourself healthy also plays a key part in keeping your skin looking good.
Since i have started going to the gym i have noticed how much fresher my skin looks and it also has a glow to it afterwards. When you increase the blood flow, exercise helps to nourish the skin cells and keep them vital. The blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the working cells throughout the body, including the skin.

After i go swimming i like to go in the steam room and sauna. The steam room is great for your skin.

The Steam Room

'Among the many steam room benefits is detoxification. A steam session capitalizes on the body’s ability to sweat toxins away. With the average body containing more than 2.5 million sweat glands, the cumulative effect of sweating is a 30% reduction in the toxins that have built up inside the body. It is an effortless and practical way to detox, and with a greater degree of effectiveness.'

The Sauna

'The heat of the sauna relaxes the body, improves circulation and stimulates the release of endorphins—the body’s natural feel good chemical—providing a wonderful after sauna glow.
When deep sweating occurs, the skin is cleansed and dead skin cells are replaced, keeping your skin in good working condition.'

I always feel really relaxed after going in both of these.

Skin Care Products

I do love my skin Care products and I love to try new products, but i feel while these do help to keep your skin looking nice and helps from breakouts, i feel the real results for me have come from diet and keping my healthy. For facial skin care products i love The Body Shop, Sanctuary and vitamin E products from Boots. I think for your skin to be at it's best you need to combine diet and health as well as your skin care products. For my body i love to use natural body washes such as Original Source, i love their products. I dont like to use anything that is going to be harsh as my skin wont thank me for it!
A lot of products today have different harsh ingredients in and this really is not good for your skin.
I also really love the Simple range as they have some great products. I love their facial toner.

I love the products in which they brought out which have green tea in them.

Fashion: Outfit Of The Day - Primark, Dorothy Perkins, Peacocks

When i recently went to Primark i saw this lovely pink jumper on show.. and i just had to have it!

I also bought this brown belt to put around the jumper.
I 'think' this jumper was about £10, I was in that much of a rush to wear the jumper that i took the label off straight away! The belt was £1 in the sale.

I have had these jeans a little while now, I bought them from Dorothy Perkins. they have zips at the botton on either side of the legs.
These jeans are so comfy, im always wearing them!

I always find that when i have bought jeans from Dorothy Perkins they always fit really well and the material is lovely. I think at the time these jeans were about £18 as i have got a feeling that they were in the sale. But i have been in there recently and they have some more jeans like these and some other lovely ones too.

I already have a pair of these sandals in black, but i went back to Peacocks the following week and bought the brown ones as i love them so much. They are easy to walk in, very hard wearing and are very comfy. I love the detailing on them with the gold spikes.

These sandals were £16. The black pair that i first bought i think cost me only £12, as they were in the sale, but the brown ones were normal price.

I love jumpers and oversized ones, as they go with almost anything.
I usually awalys team them with skinny jeans, as i love my skinnies!

Lifestyle: A Day in Lincoln

I have been to Lincoln many times before, but mostly to always go to have a look in Primark there!
(Which I still did do before we went home!)
But yesterday I was super excited to go there as I went to meet my Godfather, as he was over from Australia. I have never met him before as they moved to Australia when I was little.
We went to a little coffee shop in the middle of town (which smelt amazing!) and I had some peppermint tea. We then decided to go and have a look at Lincoln Cathedral which is very beautiful, (see photo below.) You have to walk up to the top of a hill to get there, but luckily because I have been going to the gym and swimming I didn't have to stop on the way up there this time!!

After we had a look round the Cathedral, we had a walk to the castle which was lovely.
Although they were doing quite a bit of work on the grounds and on some the buildings, it all still looked very beautiful.
I love history and I love going for days out to castles, (or anything to do with history really.)

The weather was lovely during the day, as on the way to Lincoln it started to rain quite a bit, but it was nice and warm when we got to the castle.

We went on the guided tour around the castle, and the lady who was doing the guided tour was really nice and friendly. I learnt loads about the history of the castle, buildings and Lincoln itself.

The tour lasted about just over an hour.

This is the court room inside the grounds, which is a very big!
This is still a fully working Crown Court.

The grounds were very beautiful, there were many trees and flowers all over which have been planted.

We went to the top, and walked around to get a good view each side of the castle and grounds.

The views were amazing!

You can see most of Lincoln from up here!

You also get a good view of the Cathedral.

I took some photos at the top of the hill between the cathedral and the castle.
There are some lovely buildings in Lincoln, and there was also a man playing the fiddle which was nice to listen to.

I highly recommend anyone who is coming to Lincoln for the day to go and have a walk up the hill to the Cathedral and castle.
It is so beautiful and a great day out :)
Also in the city centre you have got lots of shops to look around and also on your way up to the top of the hill there are many old fashioned sweet and cake shops that sell all your old favourite, and there are also some little clothes shops which have some great finds in them.

I had an amazing day yesterday and I hope you have enjoyed looking at the photos I took :)
