One Week Until Christmas | Blogmas Day 18

It's December 18th, Blogmas day 18. I've just submitted my final essay of 2015 and it's only one week until Christmas...

That's right only one more week until Christmas. I've almost got all of my Christmas shopping done, just a little more to get. Last night my mum and I drove past some houses with some lovely Christmas lights on them. I love looking at the Christmas lights that people put up. When I was younger I remember my mum and dad putting up the lights all over the house and then at night, when I got in bed, they would sparkle all over my bedroom window. I loved to watch them.

This morning I actually got up quite early, as I wanted to go through and check my essay ready for submitting it. I'm someone who just keeps reading and going through it to double check everything. I love doing essays, I think it's because I love to write why I like doing them so much. I can't believe how quick this year has gone, especially as I am now half way through my second year at University. For today's Blogmas I jus wanted to do a little update of what I have been up to, as I have been a little quiet the last few days. But I'm back again!

I've also been doing a little baking today. I find it quite relaxing baking to be honest. It's a secret what I've made though at the moment, as the recipe will be up on the blog very soon. It's sweet and delicious though. If you follow me on Twitter you will see that I am going to have some more recipe posts coming to the blog soon. I haven't really done any for a little while as I've been quite busy, but I'm really looking forward to sharing them with you real soon. Check out my last Blogmas post for some delicious recipes I have previously done.

The Christmas Tag | Blogmas Day 14

It's December 14th, Blogmas day 14. For todays Blogmas I've done the Christmas Tag. I love doing tags, especially a Christmas one...

1. What is your favourite Christmas movie?
My favourite Christmas movie(s) has to be Home Alone 1 and 2. I love those films, I can't choose my most favourite out of the two as I love them both.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I always open my presents in the morning. I usually wake up early on Christmas morning and see what Christmas films are on TV, then open presents.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I have lots of favourite Christmas memories. I remember when I was younger I would always open my bedroom door to find balloons in the hallway. I would then come downstairs to find that Santa has eaten his mince pie and drank his glass of milk and Rudolph had eaten his carrot. I would then wake my mum and dad up and go rushing to the living room ready to open the presents.

4. Favourite festive food?
Roast dinner. I love a nice roast dinner on Christmas day. I especially love lots of Yorkshire puddings.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I can't choose, I love all gifts I receive at Christmas. The best gift of all is getting to spend Christmas with my family.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
At the moment I'm really loving the scent of spiced apples. I have one of those smelly things plugged in and it's the scent of spiced apples, it smells so good.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Being with family Christmas day and then sitting round the table to have a roast dinner then watch Christmas films and maybe play a board game.

8. What tops your tree?
For the tree we have now, we have a little Eeyore toy that sits at the top of the tree.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Hmmm, this is a tough one. I don't think I actually ever asked for something that was wild and crazy.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with my family. Thats my favourite part about Christmas. But I do also love putting up the Christmas decorations.

I tag anyone who wants to do this Christmas tag. If you do, please leave your links in the comment section below.

As soon as it gets to December 1st, I get so excited to put up the tree.

My favourites include, Home Alone 1 and 2, Elf and The Santa Clause 1 and 2.

Spending Christmas with my family.
I love spending Christmas day with my family, watching Christmas films and playing board games.

Christmas dinner.
Mmm i feel hungry just thinking about it. I love roast dinners, especially a roast dinner on Christmas day.

Winter Wonderland | Blogmas Day 7

It's December 7th, Blogmas day 7. You may have realised that my Blogmas titles are all Christmas songs, I've chosen my favourite ones...

Today's Blogmas I've decided to name Winter Wonderland, as it's one of my favourite Christmas songs. I've also added a photo above of some more of the decorations on our Christmas tree. The little stars are so cute.
For today's post I have decided to share with you a list of books I am currently/going to read. I love books, my books are some of my most treasured possessions. I mainly love to read science-fiction books as I love an adventure, I also love biographies and recipe books. I suppose you could I love all kinds of books.

1. Inkspell by Cornelia Funke - This is the second book in the Inkheart trilogy. I am a huge fan of these books. They are full of adventure and brilliantly written. I'm currently halfway through this one.

2. Girl Online by Zoe Sugg - I was so excited when this book came out, I am a huge fan of the first one. I am about a quarter of the way through this book.

3. #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso - I haven't started reading this book yet, but I have heard so many great things about it and I'm really excited to read it.

4. Hello Life by Marcus Butler - I'm about halfway through this book and I love it. There's also lots of photos to look at too. I love books like these as you really get to know the person so much better.

5. Deliciously Ella by Ella Woodward - This is definitely my all time favourite recipe book. As I'm unable to have dairy, wheat and gluten, this recipe book is perfect for me. Everything looks so delicious.

6. Life Love Beauty by Keegan Allen - You may have seen one of my previous posts I did on this book. This book is full of photos that Keegan has taken himself. If you don't know who Keegan is, he plays Toby in Pretty Little Liars.

7. Make Up by Michelle Phan - I've only read half of this book so far and it is a brilliant book. I am a huge fan of Michelle Phan and I was so excited when I found that Michelle was releasing a book.

So there's a list of the books I'm currently reading and going to read. I would love to know what books you are currently reading or have not yet read. One book I really want to get next is Bliss by Shay Mitchell and Michaela Blaney.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas | Blogmas Day 6

It's December 6th, Blogmas day 6. I've just been to church and now I'm going to open day 6 on my advent calendar...

I'm so excited for Christmas, I even bought a santa hat last night to wear. I've also got the Christmas songs playing, I've currently got Santa Clause Is Coming To Town playing. I love that song. I went in Primark the other day and thay have got so many lovely Christmas jumpers, I need to find mine, I think it's still in the wardrobe from last Christmas. I also saw an Elf Christmas t-shirt in Primark which I love. I thought that for this Blogmas post I would write about my earliest Christmas memories...

You may have seen on one of my Blogmas posts, that one thing I always remember is getting so excited for December 1st. I remember coming back from primary school so excited because I knew that the Christmas tree was going to be up. I also remember how I excited I was at primary school for Christmas too, the school used to have a box for us all to put in Christmas cards to each other, then they would give out the cards to everyone. I loved opening them and seeing who had sent me one. On Christmas eve I always made sure I went to bed really early ready for Santa to come. I always left out a mince pie for him and a glass of milk and a carrot for Rudolph. In the morning on Christmas day there was always balloons left outside the bedroom, so I knew Santa had been. I would always wake up really early in the morning and call to my mum and dad that it was Christmas then hurry downstairs. I always loved having the Disney Christmas songs playing, I loved that CD. Another thing I always loved to do is watch The Muppets Christmas Carol. At Dinner time we would have a lovely roast dinner and pull the Christmas crackers and party poppers. I always remember pulling the party poppers and then collecting the stuff that come out of them and then putting them on my grandads head and pretending I was giving him a new hairstyle. I didn't want Christmas day to end. Boxing day would be spent eating lots of food and going round my nan and grandads for tea.

Day 6 on the advent calendar opened :)

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer | Blogmas Day 5

Its December 5th, Blogmas day 5. I'm feeling very Christmasy today, I've got a nice hot cup of cocoa and I'm about to open today on my advent calendar...

I just love a nice hot cup of cocoa, especially as the weather gets colder, snuggled up in my dressing down and a blanket, watching films on TV. I can't wait for the Christmas films to start coming on TV. It's one of the things that makes me feel all Christmasy along with listening to lots of Christmas songs. I'm so excited it's Christmas. How cute is the reindeer Christmas tree ornament in the photo above. It's one of my favourites, I just had to take a photo of it. I do have some more photos of the Christmas tree, so I will posting them on the blog. I'm really enjoying doing Blogmas, I'm also enjoying reading other peoples Blogmas posts too. It's nice to post throughout December, It will be great to look back at what I wrote up until Christmas. That's one of things I really love about having a blog, being able to look back at previous posts from a few months ago to a couple of years ago and to see what I have wrote.

Also if you're wondering, here is a list of my favourite Christmas Films -
Home Alone 1, Home Alone 2, The Santa Clause, Elf, The Muppets Christmas Carol, The Nightmare before Christmas, The Grinch, Fred Clause, Christmas with the Kranks.
Home Alone 1 and 2 definitely go at the beginning of my list. They make me laugh so much. I think out of the two, the first one is my favourite. I really the The Santa Clause films and Elf. One of my most favourite films, which has been since I was little is The Muppets Christmas Carol, I love singing along to the songs. Next on the list is The Nightmare Before Christmas, once again I love the songs in this one, they are so catchy. Lastly on the list is The Grinch, Fred Clause and Christmas with the Kranks. I actually watched Christmas with the Kranks a couple of weeks ago.

Day 5 on the advent calendar opened.

Here is another Christmas playlist for you. This one is my favourite, it's a Disney one.

Last Christmas | Blogmas Day 4

It's December 4th, Blogmas day 4, I've actually done most of my Christmas shopping today and I'm reminiscing about past Christmas's...

Today I managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done. I've still got a little bit more to get, but it's almost done. I've also been thinking about past Christmas's. If you read yesterdays Blogmas post you will have seen that I was talking about certain particular foods I used to love to eat when I younger, mainly at Christmas. I loved to have a bowl of plain Crunchy Nut cornflakes and I used to eat loads of those seashell truffle chocolates, especially on Christmas day. I've also been thinking about that one Christmas many years ago, where it actually snowed on Christmas day. I also remember when I was little, I loved to leave a mince pie and a glass of milk out for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer. I was always so excited when I got back from primary school on December 1st, to find that my mum had put up the Christmas tree. Although I still get very excited now. When I was little, I remember always waking up so early in the morning, calling to my mum and dad that it's Christmas day, then hurrying down the stairs to see what was under the tree. One of the things I have always loved and love doing now, is sitting around the table with my family having Christmas dinner. Mmmm I especially love having lots of Yorkshire puddings and pulling the crackers to find the silly jokes inside and a Christmas hat that is far too big. One film that I love to watch every year and have done since I was little is The Muppets Christmas Carol, I love that film. Also not forgetting the Home Alone films, they are must ever year. I've already watched them this year, last month, but I will definitely be watching them again.

A Holly Jolly Christmas | Blogmas Day 3

It's December 3rd, I'm thinking which Christmas film to watch next, reading Blogmas posts, getting excited about watching Vlogmas videos on YouTube and just thinking about Christmas...

It's Blogmas day 3! I've been taking some photos of our Christmas tree and the decorations we have on the tree. I will be adding these to one of my blogmas posts very soon. I'm getting so excited just thinking about Christmas. I saw that the Christmas market is in Lincoln at the moment, I really want to go and have a look at it. I went last year and there was so many lovely stores and so much to look at. One thing I was very excited about though, was that they had a roasted chestnuts stall. I love roasted chestnuts, even though I make a mess when eating them when taking them out of the shells. Speaking of food, I remember when I was able to eat dairy, I always used to have some of those gorgeous truffle seashell chocolates at Christmas, Oh how I loved eating those. I used to eat so many. Haha, I always remember eating lots of bowls of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes too, without milk that is. I loved eating them just on their own. I always seemed to have certain foods that I loved to eat at Christmas when I was younger. I also used to love the selection boxes of biscuits. The chocolate chip cookies were always my favourite.

Day 3 of the advent calendar opened :) If you're looking for some Christmas songs to get you in the Christmas mood, click here for Blogmas Day 1 for my Christmas playlist. Also click here for Blogmas Day 2.

For this post I have decided to list 5 things I love about Christmas.

1. Spending time with family - This definitely goes at the top of the list. The main thing I love about Christmas is spending time with my family.

2. Christmas Trees - I love Christmas trees, this year our went up early! We decided to put it up during November because we love Christmas so much. I love decorating the tree.

3. Christmas dinner - I love a good roast dinner, lots of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. Yummm.

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas | Blogmas Day 1

It's December 1st, the Christmas songs are playing on Spotify, the Coca-Cola advert is on TV and I'm just so excited for Christmas...

Welcome to Blogmas day 1.
I loved reading peoples Blogmas posts last year and I've decided this year I'm going to join in too. I've already seen that lots of bloggers are doing Blogmas this year, I'm so excited to read them. I will be trying my very best to blog everyday during December.
Christmas started a little bit earlier this year,  the Christmas tree went up in November! It's never too early to put up a Christmas tree. I've been playing the Christmas songs already, I've even got them playing now :) I was so excited when I saw that the Coca-Cola Christmas advert was on TV. I also really love the John Lewis Christmas advert this year, It's beautifully done, I even had a tear in my eye watching it when the young girl sent the gentleman on the moon a present.

In the photos above is my advent calendar I got from Holland & Barrett. It's dairy, wheat and gluten free, The chocolate is very delicious and I really love the design on this one. I've also added below some Christmas song for you to listen to on Spotify.

Managing My Time Effectively

Recently I have been thinking a lot about managing my time more effectively. I will admit, I don't manage my time as well as I should and could do. For example, I haven't been posting on my blog as much recently, which is something that has made me feel quite upset, as I love my blog and I love writing new posts. I also procrastinate quite a lot, it's something that I do and it's something I want to and I will change. I can get easily distracted. Although I do think that it's good to just have some me time and do our own thing that makes us happy, but at the same time I'm doing those things when I should be doing more important things. I always end up feeling so guilty when I binge on Netflix! I've been watching American Horror story, I only started season 1 a little while ago and I'm already on season 3 now. Not that I'm complaining or anything, as the show is very addictive. But it's this feeling I get afterwards, that guilty feeling of not doing what I should be doing. With all the technology that is available to us, this can play a key part in getting easily distracted.

I did start getting to bed early, but I always fall in that bad habit of just lying on the sofa and falling asleep until the early hours of the morning. This then makes me decide to have naps at the most inappropriate times, when I should be getting on with other things, 2-3 hours later I wake up and then don't have time to do what I wanted to do. I am someone who always likes to check social media before bedtime. But this isn't the best thing to do right before bed. I've been reading so many articles lately telling us to get off our phones, laptops and iPad's right before bed as it can interfere with getting a good nights sleep. I've also started to keep a book or two near me when I've finished getting ready for bed, so I can just pick it up and read. I have found that this does help me to get a better night's sleep. Just little things like this, I feel will enable me to have a much more productive day.

I will continue to post on how I am managing my time more efficiently and effectively and not to procrastinate so much. I have made it my mission to change this once and for all. I would also love to know if you feel like I do and what your tips and advice are.

Jimmi Jamms, Signature Hoodie

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

As the weather gets cooler I love getting all snuggled up in the evening, during the day too if I'm having a lazy day! There's nothing like putting on a comfy pair of PJ bottoms and a warm hoodie.
In the photo above I am wearing the Jimmi Jamms* Signature Hoodie in pink. One thing I absolutely love about this hoodie is how soft it is. It's also super comfy and so cute. You can choose to have your hoodie in different colours, but I just had to have the pink one.

I am obsessed with sleepwear. I have so many PJ bottoms from Primark, the ones in the photos above are my favourite ones (they have pugs on them!) I also love a nice pair of warm socks to keep my feet warm. Oh and not forgetting a  nice warm blanket, the one in the photos above is from Primark.

If you haven'y already checked out the Jimmi Jamms site, I highly recommend you do. I am really loving their cuddle blankets.

The Hair-o-Scope: A Horoscope For Your Hair

madison_reed_hair-o-scope_blog_post-592x938
I have always loved seeing what my horoscope says, I'm a Pisces by the way! As soon as I buy a magazine I'm always going straight to the horoscopes. As soon as I heard about the Hair-o-scope, (A horoscope for your hair,) I just had to find out more. Below is what my Hair-o-scope says about my hair.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Known to be quite the healer, people flock to compassionate Pisces for advice and warm hugs. After helping friends by lending an ear, you’re ready to dive into new creative projects or go dancing to build up those good vibes.

Use your sharp insight to pinpoint the most flattering trend, and treat yourself to a new hair color or style. Play up your naturally glamorous look with vibrant tones and don’t be afraid to own it. Or, frame your face with wispy layers that hint at your ethereal, dreamy side.
Click here to find out what your Hair-o-scope says about your hair.

Pisces

I'm loving 'compassionate, creative and dreamy.' I also agree that a good hair day for me is 'face-framing and flattering.' I've never really worn my hair up, occasionally I do if I have to have it up, but I always have my hair down. 'Play up your dreamy side with wispy layers,' I do love having layers in my hair, I must say, layers do make my hair look as though it has more volume in it, as I have fine hair. I always plait my hair at night before bed as I love how it gives my hair lovely waves in the morning. My nan also got me doing this as she told me it makes your hair grow longer and to be honest it has grown quite quickly over the last few months.
I also highly recommend checking out Madison Reed to find your perfect hair colour.

My 10 Favourite Films

Untitled

Here is a list of my 10 favourite films. I love all genres of film, comedy, action, horror. There are so many films that I like, but here are my most favourite ones that I love.

1. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Although I do love all of the Harry Potter Films, if I had to pick just one, I think my favourite one has to be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I remember being so excited to see this one at the cinema!

2. The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King
Again I really like all three of them, but if I had to pick just one, it has to be The Return of the King. My favourite character is definitely Legolas. I had such a huge crush on Orlando Bloom when I was 13!

3. What If
This is actually a pretty recent film, but I love it so much. I went to see this film with my friend Louise and I just didn't want it to end. It stars Daniel Radcliffe, which is probably one reasons why I love it so much.

4. Bedknobs and Broomsticks
This is one of my all time favourite Disney films, I've loved it ever since I was little. I remember asking my mum and dad if they could put it on for me, I loved that video. I really need to get it on dvd.

5. National Treasure, Book of Secrets
I absolutely love watching this film, I do like the first one but the second is definitely my favourite. I've also heard that they may be doing a third one, I really hope so.

6. Norbit
This film makes me laugh so much every time I watch it. Its so funny. I love films with Eddie Murphy in.

7. Mean Girls
This will always be one of my favourite films. I think I first watched it when I was about 15. My friends kept talking about it at school, so I just had to get it. 'You go, Glen Coco!'

8. Austin Powers, Goldmember
I am a huge fan of all of the Austin Powers films, they make me laugh so much. I was already a fan of the films before Goldmember came out, but as soon as I saw this one, I loved it, which is why it is in my top 10.

9. Bridget Jones, The Edge of Reason
Yep another Bridget Jones film. I like them both equally so I just had to put them both in my top 10 list. I also love Colin Firth and Hugh Grant in this one too.

10. The Adams Family
This had to go in my list of favourite films. I actually watched it again quite recently. I could never get bored of watching this film. I do also like the second one. Christopher Lloyd makes a great Uncle Fester.

What are your favourite films?

Sunday Thoughts

IMG_0595 Welcome to another Sunday Thoughts post.
In last weeks Sunday Thoughts, I talked about how age doesn't matter when going to University and also that I am still deciding on what I actually want to do when I finish University, even though I am 25 and will be 26 in March. Although I know what industry I want to work in, I'm still very open minded and I'm fine with that and I'm happy.

I wanted to start this post off with something that people always ask me when I tell them that I travel to University every day. People always assume that I live at/near University and always ask why I don't live In Lincoln, but in fact I travel in everyday, which yes is over 40 miles away, but I really don't mind. I made the decision to stay living at home because it actually works out cheaper for me, I know I have to pay for petrol and carparks but it does actually work out cheaper me doing this. I also wanted to stay living at home, because I am still working part time and my Job is in my hometown. At first I will admit that it did take a little time to get used to driving in everyday, but I'm just used to it now and I am happy driving to Uni and then back home again. I've decided to do a post, which will be coming out soon on my tips on commuting to University, as I have learnt what to do and what not to do, a huge example of this is making sure I get enough sleep! I also have lots of little things that I do and things that I take with me that prepare me for the drive and also during breaks at Uni. I am also going to be doing a few more University posts on different topics very soon.

5 Happy Things
Here are 5 things that have made me feel happy this week.

1. My mums homemade fruit crumble.

2. Udi's chocolate chip bagels.

3. I'm going to be the producer for a radio show on Siren fm for a University assignment.

4. Pumpkins are the shops!

5. Snuggled up in a blanket, watching Once Upon a Time on Netflix.

5 Blogs I Love

Here are 5 blogs that I love reading -

1. thumbelinalillie.com
I have been a huge fan of Megan for such a long time now, I love reading Megan's posts and her blog is just so lovely.

2. dorkface.co.uk
I always love reading Gemma's posts, and the photos are gorgeous. (Highly recommend checking out Gemma's Instagram and shop.)

3. promptsbydee.co.uk
If you are a huge Harry Potter fan like myself, then you really need to check out Dee's blog. There are also lots of posts about theatre which I absolutely love.

4. milkbubbletea.com
I have been following Becky's blog for a very long time now, I am also a huge fan of Becky's Instagram too, all of the photos are so beautiful.

5. brightgreenroom.com
I love Kimberley's blog and I especially love reading Kimberley's music posts. There are also lots of beautiful photos too.

Sunday Thoughts

Sunday Thoughts

This week has definitely been a busy one. If you read my previous Sunday Thoughts post you will know that I started back at University for my second year. This week has got me thinking about the present and the future. I'm always asked what I want to do at the end of University and to be honest I'm still quite open-minded, which I feel is a good thing and I'm absolutely fine about. I have chosen my options for this year, which I am enjoying so much, but I'm not ready at this particular moment in time to decide which I actually want to do when I finish University. I'm still exploring and gaining experience on these subjects, as well as other ones I'm taking, but at this moment in time I'm happy doing this and I feel that's fine. Everything happens for a reason and if I'm meant to do something then I will do it, if I'm not, then I won't. I know that there are some people who may know for sure what they want to do, but me, I'm not one of them, I just have ideas of what I want to do and to just go from there. A lot of people also seem to be quite surprised that a 25 year old is only just starting at University, but age doesn't matter, you can be any age and go to University. I know that I'm going to be 27 when I finish Uni, but that doesn't worry or scare me. When I was at college a couple of years back, there was a lovely woman who had just started studying the course, who was always so friendly and a brilliant singer and I think she said she was in her 70's.

I remember when I was younger I always wanted to be a singer and I would sit for ages writing all these songs about cats, being a girl and just complete random stuff. But as I got older I didn't really feel that was the path I wanted to choose. I then decided that I wanted to either be a postwoman or a police woman! But as I got older I decided that no, thats not what I want to be. I suppose I've always been a little unsure of what I want to do, but what I do know is that I wanted to study music at college and I wanted to carry on my studies at University, which I now am doing. I suppose I'm the type of person who knows what industry they want to be in but is still deciding on what they actually want to do, if that makes sense.

5 Happy Things

Here are 5 things that have made me happy. It's good to think about the things that make us happy, which is why this is becoming a regular on my Sunday Thoughts posts.

1. I am really enjoying all of my subjects at University.

2. Homemade cakes that my mum made. (They are so delicious and are dairy, wheat and gluten free.)

3. Autumn. I've already got the scarves out ready and the jumpers!

4. It's not long till Christmas!

5. Writing on my blog.

5 Favourite TV Shows

If you are looking for something new to watch, here are 5 of my favourite TV shows. Some are also on Netflix.

1. Once Upon A Time. I'm so excited that the new season starts again today! I'm still catching up on the last few episodes of season 4.

2. Fear The Walking Dead. I still need to catch up on a couple of episodes of this, but I'm really liking it. I think it's great that we get to see the beginning of it all, before The Walking Dead.

3. The Walking Dead. I'm so excited that the new season is starting soon, I can't wait to find out what's going to happen next, the trailer for the new season looks so good.

4. Pretty Little Liars. I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, I love it. I can't wait for the new season. I'm also following Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Keegan Allen, Troian and Tyler Blackburn on Snapchat. If you are missing Pretty Little Liars like I am, then you can catch up with the cast on Snapchat.

5. The Big Bang Theory. I can't wait to watch the new season of this, the last episode of last season was so emotional! I just want to know what is going to happen next. I also love Leonard by the way. Who's your favourite?
