My Christmas Playlist

I can't believe it's December 4th already! I am kind of regretting not doing blogmas this year, but I am really enjoying reading other people blogmas posts :) so send some links this way and I will be sure to check them out. 🙂 But there will be lots of new posts coming out on Clemloves throughout December. I just didn't want to start blogmas and then end up missing a couple of days (which I may have done last year, oops)! So I thought for this Christmas I will try and get up as many blog posts as I can, then if I don't blog for a few days, it won't matter as much, haha!

It's been a while since I've done a proper good update on my blog, so I thought it's about time I did one. Things have just been a little busy recently and I have really missed writing on my blog. The Diabolic by S. J. Kincaid | Book Review

I love reading books on the train whilst traveling to University. It also helps my anxiety. The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid has been an amazing read and made my train journey so much more enjoyable. I loved every moment of this book and it was very hard to put down. I think there may have been a couple of times where I almost missed my stop! This book is definitely going on my list of my favourite books of 2016. 🙂

My Favourite Things About Autumn

Yes it's that time of year again already and I love it! Autumn is definitely my most favourite season and time of the year. Although I'm a little late posting this, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite things about Autumn.

Having cosy nights in.
One of my most favourite things to do when Autumn arrives. I do love having a nice cosy night in, watching some of my favourite TV shows or movies, snuggled up in a warm blanket. Oh and no forgetting a nice warm cup of hot chocolate! Cant forget the hot chocolate.

Autumn Leaves.
The leaves always look so pretty scattered about on the pavement. So many beautiful colours. Just makes it feel that bit more like Autumn.

Fashion.
Although I do like the warm weather, my favourite thing about Autumn, is being able to get the jumpers out of the wardrobe to wear! I am obsessed with wearing jumpers, and I've already added a few more to my collection for this Autumn! I also like getting a nice warm scarf out to wear and some boots! I just love the whole A/W fashion to be honest!

Associates Of Sherlock Holmes by George Mann | Book Review

Today's book review is by author George Mann titled Associates of Sherlock Holmes. I do love a book that takes me on an adventure. I also really like reading about Sherlock Holmes. You may remember one of my previous books reviews, on a brilliant book called A Study In Sable, in which Sherlock Holmes made an appearance. Anyway, I was so excited when this book arrived, as soon as I read about the book and read the title, I knew I just had to read it.

George Mann is author of the Newbury and Hobbes and The Ghost series, as well as short stories. He has also edited and written Sherlock books for Titan, which include Encounters of Sherlock Holmes, More Encounters of Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: The Spirit Box. George Mann has written audio and fiction scripts for the BBC's Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes.

Famous associates of Sherlock Holmes, including clients, colleagues and villains, tell their own stories in this brand new book which follows adventures of Sherlock Holmes. We get to read about and join Sherlock Holmes in some new adventures by George Mann which features original stories that have been brought together.

This book starts with The River Of Silence by Lyndsay Faye, which then follows on to other original stories by various different authors. The different angle used within this book adds a fresh perspective. I think it's great that different stories are told by different characters, that have played parts in Sherlock Holmes's adventures. I find it very helpful that each author within the collection of stories, have written a short introduction.

The book is well presented and pictures the famous door number on the front. Underneath the title on the front cover, are the authors of the original stories. I am really liking the dark green colour of the book. It automatically makes me think of mysteries and adventures, with the main picture being of a closed door.

Associates of Sherlock Holmes is out now. I highly recommend checking this book out, especially if you are a fan of the great detective and his adventures.

My Favourite Things About Summer

The weather has been so pleasant the last few weeks. It's nice to wake up to the sun shining, birds singing and lovely warm weather. In today's blog post, I thought that I would share my favourite things about Summer.

Butterflies
It's that time of year again when all of the pretty butterflies are about. I love watching them on the flowers outside and flying about.

Flowers
One thing I love about summer is the beautiful summertime flowers that bloom. They really brighten up the fields and the towns. They also smell really good too.

Going out for the day.
It's so nice to go out for the day when the sun is shining and go on a bit of an adventure. I really like finding new places.

Picnics
One of my all time favourite things to do. I love finding new places to have a picnic. There's nothing I like more on a day out, than to go find a good spot to have a picnic.

Going to the beach
I love going to the beach. I really like spending the day at the seaside in the sunshine, going into the arcades and having a walk on the sand, whilst watching the sea.

BBQ's
It always feels more like summer when the smell of BBQ's are in the air.

Going on holiday
One of my favourite things to do during the summer holiday is go on holiday for a few days. This year I went to Somerset and had a look round Cheddar and visited Longleat.

Summer clothes.
Although I do love putting on nice cosy jumpers and boots and a scarf in the Autumn and Winter, It's nice to get out the summer clothes. Shorts, t-shirts, sandals, after wearing layers of clothing to keep warm, I do like to go out not needing a coat or a jumper.

What are your favourite things about Summer?

July Favourites

Ok, so I know I'm a little bit late with my July Favourites post, but here it is! So during July I tried to spend as much time as I can outside in the sunshine. And what lovely weather we have had too. I went on holiday for a few days with my friend Emma. We went to stay in the Wookey Hole Hotel and then had a ride to Cheddar to visit the caves and we also went to Longleat, to look round the safari and the house, and what a beautiful and amazing house it is indeed. I can't believe that we are in August already! It occurred to me this morning that it's only a few more months until Christmas and almost time to start my third year at University. My third year!!

Caves, Safari and Witches

How beautiful is this photo above, I took it whilst on the bus ride around Cheddar. It makes me want to be there again right now.

Clemloves has been a little bit quiet this last week, and that's because I've been on holiday. My friend Emma and I went on holiday to Somerset and stayed in the Wookey Hole Hotel. We stayed there for 4 nights, the hotel room was lovely, we had our own ensuite, TV, desk and chairs and there was free wifi. We arrived on the Monday and just spent the evening relaxing, then on the Tuesday we went to Longleat, to look round the safari park and the house. Having never been to Longleat before I was so excited to go, especially after watching the TV series that came on ages ago about it.

As I mentioned above, the hotel was lovely and also included a life size statue of a witch outside, (see photo below.) Although the hotel was right next door we didn't actually go in to Wookey Hole caves, but hopefully I will be able to do that next time. I went when I was very young, but I can't really remember it much now. The hotel was about a minutes walk from a couple of pubs, so we decided to have a meal at one of the pubs for tea. The one we went to had a garden round the back, so we sat and relaxed in the sunshine. I ordered some chips, as it can be quite hard to find places that have something that I can eat, as I can't have dairy, wheat and gluten. Because of my IBS I also can't have anything with onion and garlic in. But the chips were homemade and were so good.

Sweet Inspirations Body Mist - Zoella Beauty

For todays blog post, I want to share with you one of my new favourite body mists. I haven't really done many perfume/body mist blog posts before, there are so many I have got that I love and I will definitely be sharing them with you on my blog. As this one has only really recently come out I wanted to write a review on it and share my own honest thoughts and opinions, and that is because I love it so much.

I was so excited when I saw that Zoe was releasing a new range of products, especially as I loved the previous range so much. I remember Zoe posted a snipped of one of the products on Twitter and I was constantly guessing what it could be.

June Favourites

Wow, I can't believe it's July already! It literally doesn't feel like 5 minutes ago that I was writing my May Favourites. I have now finished my second year of Uni, I'm so excited for my third year, (I just can't believe how quick it has gone!) I'm currently sat by my computer waiting for my overall second year results. I still can't believe that in September I will be in my third year. I have really enjoyed years one and two so much. I have met some new friends, went on a trip to London to look around BBC Radio 1 and Absolute Radio. I got to see Scott Mills and Chris Stark presenting. I also got to produce a radio show and present one live, which I really, really, really enjoyed.

A few things have happened in June, I've also visited a few places. I went with my mum and her boyfriend on a classic car run to Deene park in the Austin 10, which I really enjoyed, (blog post coming soon.) My mum and I won tickets to go see Will Young, but unfortunately my car broke down half way there! (So upset that we didn't get to see Will Young.) My mum and I also had a spa day at Ragdale Hall, which luckily my car was fine for. Anyway, on to my June Favourites. Here are a few things I have been loving.

Brilliantly written by the New York Times bestselling American fantasy author, Mercedes Lackey, this book is the newest edition to The Elemental Masters series. Mercedes Lackey is also author of the 100 Kingdoms series and has published over 100 novels.

Remembering Those Who Fought in The Battle of the Somme

Today marks 100 years since the Battle of the Somme. The Battle of the Somme, was fought between July 1st and November 18th 1916.

July 1st 1916 remains the bloodiest day in British military history with 57,470 casualties in which 19,240 were killed.

Today we remember all who fought in The Battle of the Somme. This morning a two minute silence was held in remembrance and marks the moment the soldiers went over the top in to battle.

This morning my mum and I attended an outdoor service at 7:30am to remember those who fought. Whistles were blown and crosses and wreaths were laid.

Caprera

I love trying new things and sometimes this can be so hard being dairy, wheat and gluten free. Whenever I go in a supermarket and there is a new product that looks so good and I look on the back and see it has milk in it! This happens a lot. I was so excited when I received these products* in the photo above from Caprera. As soon as the parcel arrived I opened it straight away and dived in. On the Caprera website, there are lots products that are free from dairy, wheat and gluten and lots of new products I haven't tried or seen before.

MAC Lipstick - CB 96

You can never have too many lipsticks. I'm so excited to share on my blog one of my most favourite lipsticks ever! This is one makeup product that I love to collect. Some of my favourite brands of Lipstick include, MUA, Rimmel London and Topshop. Lipstick is one of my must have essentials in my handbag. There's usually one or two in the bottom of my handbag somewhere.

My favourite shades of lipstick to get are coral and orange. Ever since I stocked up on the Coral in Gold lipstick by Rimmel London, I have been on the look out for one that is similar. This beauty in the photos, is the MAC lipstick in the shade CB 96. I won this lipstick in a giveaway a while ago from the lovely Kim from Blogobvious. I knew straight away which shade I was going to pick. Having never before owned anything from MAC, I was so excited to finally own one of their lipsticks. I've spent ages on their website in the past, dreaming of of owning something from their site, so I was very happy when I won a lipstick of my choice and choose one from MAC.

May Favourites

It's a new month already and we are now half way through the year! Which means it's also time for my May favourites, I can't believe I'm saying this as it doesn't seem 5 minutes ago that I was doing my April Favourites. I am looking forward to June though. Yesterday I went the Classic Car Show in Nottingham, there was so much to look at and I even looked around Wollaton Hall. The weather was lovely and warm and we also had a picnic for dinner and tea. We are so lucky to have so many beautiful places to look around in the UK.

In this months favourites, I have added some beauty products that I am loving, a couple of dresses that are perfect for the warmer weather, a new book that I am reading and some tasty food that I have been enjoying. I have added some new TV shows, that I am obsessed with, that I found on Netflix, as some of my favourite TV shows are currently on a break, so I've been looking for some new ones to watch. At the end of this post I have also added in a playlist that I created on Spotify, which some very nostalgic songs on.

Tea or Coffee?

This is one question I have often been asked and the answer to this question is, no, I don't drink tea or coffee. Well not the standard, original cup of tea, I love to drink fruit and herbal tea. The only time I can remember even tying a cup of milky tea was when I was little and I only used the cup of tea purely for dunking my biscuits in! I've just never been a fan. I did however go through a stage where everyone around me was drinking coffee and I wanted to fit in, so I decided to try and drink coffee, though it didn't last very long. Although the smell of coffee does smell nice, I just really didn't like the taste of it.

Seizure (Book 2) by Kathy Reichs and Brendan Reichs

If you read my previous post on Virals, (Book 1) I was completely obsessed with the book, and Seizure definitely does not disappoint. Like the first book, this one is packed full adventures and mysteries. I am just simply loving Tory and her group of friends, and not forgetting Coop, even more with every page I read. So this one is book 2 in the Virals series, which is written by Kathy Reichs, author of the Temperance Brennan novels and producer of the FOX series Bones and Brendan Reichs, who is Kathy's son. Together they have created a brilliant and amazing series of books.

Lost in a Book, Tag

I am a huge book lover. I love collecting and reading books. As soon as I saw this tag, I just had to join in with it. I found this tag over on Hailey's blog

1.  Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I particularly love reading in my bedroom. I just shut myself in my room grab a book and read. I think I prefer reading in my room because I have all of my books stored in my room.

2. Where do you like to read?
I usually like to read on my bed, or half in my bed. I love pulling the covers over me and getting nice and comfy. I do have a chair in my room, but as I'm mostly sat in my chair when I'm on my laptop, it's nice to relax on my bed.

Bagsy, Beauty

How gorgeous are these beauty products in the photo above. You should see the packaging, which is equally as gorgeous!

These are from Bagsy. I recently won a giveaway, and won these beauties, I just have to share them with you, as I am really loving them. But first lets talk about the packaging. They packaging is gorgeous, if you head over to their website you will know what I mean. But the best part is, the packaging includes lovely little quotes inside. The bronzer also comes in it's own little pouch bag inside the box. So cute!
