Yessss!!!! It’s that’s time again for my monthly ‘What’s In My August Birchbox’ post. I have been itching to post this for days now. If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen that unfortunately, my MacBook went wrong. 😿 I’m hoping it’s fixable as I’ve got so many recent photos that I hadn’t backed up yet. It was just so unexpected. Fortunately, I do have a new laptop now, and it feels so good to be able to finally write this post and share with you what I got in this months box. I want to put out it out there that the August Birchbox is awesome! I’m also making sure that any photos that get put on to this one, are saved and backed up straight away! I actually felt so lost without my laptop. It’s one of the most used things that I own. In other news this week, (I thought I would use this post to do a little update, as it’s been so long) I may have got myself another Bonsai Tree!!! 🙈 At the rate I’m going to have a whole room full on them! Like my other little Bonsai’s, this one too came from the reduced section and I just couldn’t leave it there. The tiny few leaves it has were just hanging off and the soil was so dry. So I brought the little Bonsai home with me! After a couple of name suggestions on Twitter, my Bonsai has been named Ernie! I think this name is just giving me more determination to get another one, so I can call it Bert!!! 😂 As soon as I got home I gave Ernie some water and a spritz and a tube of special feed. And literally within a few hours when I came back to check on him, Ernie has really perked up. The top leaves are no longer hanging, and in fact, he’s sprouting more and the stems are getting longer. It’s amazing how a little TLC can really help. If you’re wondering my other Bonsai’s are called Bonnie, Clyde and Eric! At least I know the next one is going to be called Bert! 😂🙈💕
If you follow me on Instagram. You may have seen that I got myself a Build-A-Bear!!! Why not!? I may be 28 but I’m just a big kid really! After seeing so many tweets of boyfriends getting their girlfriends one, and seeing as I don’t have a boyfriend, I thought I would get myself one as a present from me to me! I decided to get a bunny and have called her Princess Rose! 👑 I got her a little onesie to wear, which looks so cute! You can never be too old for Build-A-Bear. I’m just excited to get her some more clothes, to be honest! Also this week, I’ve been seeing Tweets, that people are starting to already plan for #Blogmas!!! Which has made me realise that in almost 4 months time, it will be Christmas. What!!!! Even though we have still got Halloween and Bonfire Night to go yet, I must admit, it’s getting me excited for Christmas all ready and excited to read everyone’s Blogmas posts. Am I going to be doing it this year, maybe not, but who knows! Anyway, I’m sure you are all eager to see what I got in my August Birchbox, so on with the post…
If you are a Birchbox subscriber, or you keep up-to-date with Birchbox news, you may have seen that the August Birchbox design is actually one of 10 different designs, by 10 Etsy sellers. As soon as I saw what each design looked like, to be honest, I didn’t really mind which one I got, as I loved them all. Each design is so pretty and unique, and I just wanted them all! But as soon as my August Birchbox arrived in the post and I opened the parcel, I was very happy with the design I got. I think it looks super cute in the photos with my props. This is my fifth box now, as I’ve been having them since April. Check out what I got in my April, May, June and July boxes. I also want to quickly mention, that in this months box, I did get two extra goodies, as usual in each months box, you get 5 treats. As one amazing and lovely person used my link when they subscribed, I was sent two extra items in my box. You can find them a little bit further down in this post. (Let’s just say that I was extremely happy and surprised to receive them). A huge thank you to the person who used my link. You have no idea how happy you have made me. 💕 Also a little disclaimer, this post is in no way sponsored. I pay for my Birchbox subscription with my own money, and I purely write these posts, because I love Birchbox so much and I want to share with you what I got in mine, so you can get an idea of what to expect if you are thinking about subscribing yourself. I also have so much fun writing these posts and taking the photos for them!
If you are thinking about subscribing to Birchbox, I say go for it! 😀 You won’t be disappointed. To get your August Birchbox now, click here.
So Clem… What did you get in your August Birchbox?
First things first. Just take a look at that beauty of a box! I am so happy with the design I got. The design of my box is by The Lovely Drawer. And the theme for this month’s August Birchbox is ‘Live a life beautiful’, which is embracing the moments that make life happy. I haven’t yet tried any of the products that I have got in my box, this post is based on my first impressions and I will be reviewing the products on Clem Loves very soon. The first item that I got in my box, is the Dirty Little Secret eyeshadow crayon in the shade Fetch. This product is full size and is a gorgeous pink colour with peach undertones and a light shimmer of gold when held up to the light. The description of this crayon, says that it can be used alone, or as a base or highlighter. I absolutely love the shade of this crayon. I feel that it will be perfect for my very pale skin. I think personally I will use this eyeshadow alone, as I feel it will really help to brighten my eyes.
The second product that I got in my box, is the CLE Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder in Blushing Peach. Ok, so this product is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I just assumed that it was a normal liquid lipstick, but on closer inspection, and as it states in the name, it’s a powder! I literally had no idea on how I was going to apply this. After watching a tutorial though on the Birchbox Instagram stories, you literally get some of the powder on to the applicator and it just simply dissolves on to the lips. How amazing is that! The description says that it is matte and you can also use it on the cheeks too.
What else did you get…?
The third product I got in my August Birchbox, is the Dr.Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask. This product is the second full size one in my box. You have no idea how excited I am to try this, and how happy I am to have gotten this in my box. I do love a good face mask. And it works overnight, so I haven’t got to wait around to wash it off again before I go to bed. The description says that you just pop a thin layer of the mask on to clean skin and let it absorb while you sleep. And the antioxidants help to rejuvenate tired skin, for a glowing and hydrated complexion. I will definitely be doing a review on this face mask very soon.
The fourth product I got is the Number 4 Sugar Spray. My first thought was, what on earth is a sugar spray?! The description says, ‘combining the beachy waves of a salt spray with the nourishment of a mask, this spritz is a hair care hero!’ It says it contains sugar cane and leaves the hair soft and shiny and texturises it. You apply on to damp hair or dry hair and then leave to air-dry or dry with your hairdryer. The scent of this spray is so nice. I can’t quite explain what it smells like, but it smells so good.
The last product out of the 5 main products I got in my box this month, is the Rituals Happy Budha Foaming Shower Gel. This shower gel has a 4+ star review on the Birchbox website. This shower gel is infused with sweet orange and cedar. It helps to rejuvenate the skin. The description says that it turns into a thick lathering foam on contact with water. It also helps to hydrate the skin. I’m really excited to try this. I do love my shower gels! It’s been so long since I’ve had a foaming one. I wasn’t too sure if I would be able to smell the scent of it before using it, but as soon as I just took off the lid, you can really smell the sweet orange and cedar. It smells so lovely.
My two extra items…
As I mentioned further up on this post, I actually got two extra items in my August box. As my link was used, this meant I would receive an extra gift in my box. I got the Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio in Champagne Mocha. This eyeshadow trio is just simply perfect and are the shades I would usually go for when choosing eyeshadow. I haven’t actually tried anything by Pop Beauty before. Please let me know in the comments if you have tried any of their products? Each one of these eyeshadows is highly pigmented, which I absolutely love. I love a little bit of sparkle! It also comes with a little eyeshadow applicator too.
The second extra product I got, which I am extremely happy about, is the B04 Spectrum makeup brush. This is the second Spectrum brush that I own. The first one I have, I actually got in my very first Birchbox in April, as a gift for being a first time subscriber. I can’t wait to use it. The brush is angled and is so lovely and soft. Perfect for blending eyeshadow. The Spectrum brushes really are so gorgeous. It just makes me want to get even more of them!
I also want to quickly apologise for the number of photos in this post! 😂🙈 I had so much fun taking them, so it only felt right to include them all. Sometimes I just get a little bit carried away! Overall I am very, very, very happy with my August Birchbox. Once again, everything I have received in my box, I will be using. I love them all already and I haven’t even used them yet! Once I have used them though, I will be doing a review on them all. I think I might go for the eyeshadow crayon to start with!
If you are thinking about subscribing, I highly recommend giving Birchbox a try, because I know you are going to love it. When you first subscribe, you can fill out your beauty profile, so you get products based on if your skin is sensitive, or with hair care products, you can get products for dry hair. If there is also a certain type of product that you don’t want to receive you have options to choose if you want to receive them or not. Click here to get your first box and get £5 off too. Go get your August Birchbox. 💕
