Hello and welcome to Clem Loves
I’m Clementine but everyone calls me Clem! I’m 28 and I live in a town in Lincolnshire. I have a huge passion for writing and taking photos. I am a creative person who loves to paint and I also have a huge passion for radio and all things audio and sound related. Fun fact number 1, I play the drums in a band called Sidecar Mutiny and I’ve been playing the drums for about 13 years now. Fun fact number 2, the Chuckle Brothers once sang ‘Oh My Darling Clementine’ to me!
I created Clem Loves as somewhere that I can write about all the things that I love. From a very young age, I loved to create my own websites and blogs. As I got a bit older, my love for writing grew along with a new found love for taking photos. After creating a few different blogs, I started Clem Loves in December 2012. You can check out my first blog post here. I wanted to create a place where I can write about all of the things I love. There is a little bit of everything on my blog. I love to write about lots of different things. I love beauty, fashion, food, books (huge book lover), films, music, games and so many more things. My blog has grown so much over the last few years and I have worked with some amazing brands.
On Clemloves, you will find lots of delicious recipes. Over the last few years I cut dairy, wheat and gluten from my diet, so many of the recipes I have on my blog are dairy, wheat and gluten free. I also don’t use onion and garlic in recipes too. Last year in November, after becoming very unwell, I was admitted to hospital and have been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, and as for the last few years, diet has been something that is very important to me, it is even more so now. I am very careful when it comes to food and what I put in my body. I like to keep food simple, but I also like it to taste amazing at the same time. I also have POTS Syndrome and Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. When I was 19 I had two operations on my heart as I had been diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, thankfully the second operation was successful and the WPW was gone. I was also diagnosed at the age of 19 with Interstitial Cystitis (more commonly known as Painful bladder syndrome.) I like to post lots of recipes as changing my diet has really helped a lot with my health over the years.
A little bit more about me
I studied Performing Arts at Boston College for a year and then decided to study Music. I have always loved music and when I was very young I learned to play the piano and the flute, then decided at the age of 15 that I wanted to play the drums. I have gigged around Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Derbyshire, Bedfordshire, Nottinghamshire and London. I also got to record an album with a band. In 2012 I went back to Boston College to study HND Performing Arts/Music and in 2014 I went on to study Audio Production at the University Of Lincoln. I graduated last year.
What camera do you use to take photos? – A lot of the photos on my blog have been taken using my iPhone 6. But more recent photos, have been taken using my Canon 700D camera.
What do you use to edit your photos? – I currently use the Facetune app and ColorStory to edit my photos. (There are so many amazing free apps available that you can use to edit your photos).
Who designed your blog layout? – I recently decided to change from Blogger to WordPress and give my blog a bit of a makeover. The layout is by Pipdig, I also purchased their Blogger to WordPress migration service and went self-hosted. I highly recommend checking out their migration service if you are also thinking of doing the same.
Are you on Youtube? – I do have a Youtube channel, but I currently haven’t got any videos on it at the moment. This is something that I really want to start doing in the near future.
