It’s Almost ‘Time’ For Christmas

Keep on reading to find out how I like to prepare for Christmas at this busy time of year. This post is in collaboration with Adexe for their Christmas campaign. I was very kindly sent a watch of my choice to share on Clem Loves.

Christmas is a truly magical time and a time of the year I truly love. There’s nothing like getting the Christmas tree out from storage, decorating it with loved ones and turning up the Christmas songs on full blast! The weeks leading up to Christmas though can be a busy and exhausting time, especially when you have a Chronic Illness.

But by doing just a few things to ease the pressure of getting everything done in time,  (Christmas can still be a very enjoyable time), whether it’s one month before Christmas Day or two days before. Over the years I have learned what works for me in terms of preparing for Christmas, by doing these I don’t feel as under pressure to get things done and it definitely helps a lot when having a chronic illness and in general.

Start planning for Christmas in advance. Don’t worry, you don’t necessarily need to start planning for Christmas just after Christmas has ended! Although I must admit that I’m always looking forward to Christmas, no matter what time of year it is! But I find that even by planning in advance for Christmas a couple of months before, it helps to make things that little bit easier and less stressful. As I’m careful still with what I eat, I also like to plan what food I will be eating, and depending where I will be on Christmas Day, if someone else is going to be cooking Christmas dinner, I like to know in advance what they will be cooking and to also let them know what I can and can’t eat.

Make a list. By making a list, it makes getting what I need to get for Christmas a lot easier. I love to make lists anyway, so being able to make a Christmas list, really excites me! Especially if you are needing to get some food shopping for Christmas day. You don’t want to forget the most important thing for the table… Cranberry Sauce! This year I am going be writing a list out of who I need to get presents for and to also write down any Christmas presents I may have gotten already throughout the year and also what I want to get each person. I can then just tick each item off the list, without worrying if I’ve forgotten to get someone something. (It’s happened before)!

Be aware of when the shops will be at their busiest. Supermarkets especially can get extremely busy. I feel that the best time to go and get food is at night. The supermarkets are mostly empty round about this time and it’s so much easier to go and get some shopping. Another good time I find to go around the supermarkets is early in the morning as soon as they open. Another tip is to stock up your freezer in advance, so you have most of your Christmas food shopping in advance. You can get some really delicious frozen food, including desserts, at some great prices.

There’s always online shopping. Although I love to look around and support my local shops, sometimes it’s not always possible to go out into town. The shops and shopping centres just before Christmas can be very very busy. Being in a busy town centre can make me feel very anxious and especially if I’m not feeling great on that day. I like to be able to take my time and if I need to sit down somewhere, I don’t want to have to make my way through crowds of people. The one thing I absolutely love about online shopping is finding gifts that you may not necessarily find on the high street, and it’s also great to be able to support small online businesses. Why not pop over to some of your favourite blogger’s online shops. It’s supporting them and also a way to find some really awesome and unique gifts for your loved ones.

Remember to have fun. I think this is the most important thing to remember, to have fun. Whether it’s going out for a drive to look at all of the houses decorated with Christmas lights, (which is one of most favourite things to do) or go take a look at your local Santa’s grotto, or even going to see a pantomime. There are so many amazing and fun things to do around this time of year, it’s also a great way to relax and unwind and spend it with loved ones.

As it’s almost ‘time’ for Christmas, (Get it! Nope… I’m no good with jokes!) you may still be wondering about what gifts to get a loved one. Adexe watches have a wide selection of beautiful watches that are the perfect gift for someone, or even the perfect gift to yourself this Christmas. Each watch comes in their beautiful new packaging which keeps your watch safe whilst it’s on it’s way to you. This watch by Adexe, which I was very kindly sent, adds the perfect touch to any outfit and helps me to keep track of time when life gets busy, especially in the upcoming weeks leading up to Christmas. This beautiful watch, (I chose the Freerunner, Petite Berries watch), really caught my attention straight away when browsing on their online shop.

Inside my box, my watch was placed safely in place and also came with an extra strap, just in case I want to change it up a bit. It also comes with a little tool, so I can easily change and adjust the straps. This watch is such a joy to wear and is very comfortable on my wrist. There were even a few moments where I forgot I was even wearing a watch!
