Yes, it’s that time again! It’s time for a brand new What’s In My July Birchbox post. I look forward to this time of the month so much, waiting for that knock on the door with the postman standing outside holding on to my monthly Birchbox, me excitedly taking it from him and rushing inside to see what goodies I have this month. And Birchbox, you never disappoint. But before I get into what I got in this months box, and it’s a beauty for sure, let’s have a little mid-week catch-up. I firstly want to talk about how amazing the blogging community is. I did actually recently touch on this, in a recent post, but I just simply love how supportive each and every blogger I come across online is. Why can’t we all just live about 5 minutes at the most away from each other, so we can have regular meetups, have a catch-up, go shopping, talk about everything blog related and have our own little photoshoots. I mean, how amazing would that be?! I see so many bloggers being super supportive to each other and new friendships blossoming. It’s such a lovely thing to see happening and I really hope that the supportiveness that the blogging community gives, will just keep growing and growing because I just know it will. I love making new friends, so if you wanna have a chat, feel free to email me or you can find me on Twitter.
Now on to the post! So, if you have read my previous What’s In My Birchbox posts, you know that I have a huge love for Birchbox and the products that I receive each month, along with the super cute box they come in of course. Each box each month has a particular theme to it. This months theme is, ‘Say yes! To Adventure’. This months box is a gorgeous pretty mixture of colours with lots of pink. Like an abstract painting. The box is definitely stunning. Each month you get 5 products within your box, sometimes you may get a little extra something. There is usually one or two items in the box that everyone gets and one of the items, you can choose which shade you would like, for example, an eyeshadow or blush. Birchbox will send out an email so you are able to choose. With Birchbox, you do get sample sizes, but sometimes you do get full-size products too. But I personally feel that for what you get and amount of what you get, and plus the cute box, this monthly subscription is definitely worth it. This month I have got two full-sized products in my box. Keep on scrolling to find out what I got.
As I do with each of my Birchbox posts, I am doing a first impressions post, upon opening the box and writing about the products before using them. I will be doing a review of some of the products individually very soon. This months box smells amazing! Yes, I’m one of those people who opens the box and has a good old smell first! It just has to be done, as with a brand new book! But upon opening my box, I was very pleasantly surprised and so happy with each product I got. The first item I got in my box, is the Manna Kadar, Long-Wear Powder. As I mentioned above there is a product which you can choose which shade you would like and it’s a product that everyone gets in their box. I chose mine in the shade Trifecta. The other shade that I could have chosen was Paradise. The description of this product says that it is a multipurpose powder that can be used on the cheeks, brows and eyes and adds a pop of colour wherever you need it. The formula is lightweight and the description also says that it glides on smoothly to deliver a healthy flush to cheeks and adds definition to the eyes. As I have very pale skin, I felt that the shade Trifecta would suit my skin tone best. The shade Paradise seemed to be a lot stronger red shade. This product is a full size one.
The second item in my box, is the Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Satin. I was so excited when I saw this product, as I have really been enjoying the Eyeko eyeliner that I got in a previous box. This eye stick is the second full-size product I got in this months box. The description for this, says that it delivers an intense, glossy colour to the eyelids and stays put. I’m really looking forward to trying this out. It also says that there is no need to settle for smudging, creasing or disappearing cream shadows with this one. I will definitely be reporting back on this product to let you know my thoughts and overall review of it. It also says that this product is £12, so I’m very happy at getting this in my box.
The third product I got, is the What’s in it for me…? Shower Scrub. I don’t think I’ve heard of this brand before, so I’m very excited to see what this shower scrub is like. This scrub though smells amazing. It reminds me of something but I can’t quite think what. Please let me know if you got this product in your July box, or if you have tried it before. The description says that it is infused with uplifting orange and jasmine flower. Maybe it’s the jasmine flower I can really smell. It also has sweet almond oil to nourish and prevent dryness. It scrubs away dead skin cells with fragments of gritty walnut shells. I can’t stop smelling it! I’ve got it next to me right now and it just smells so good. I just really want to know what the smell reminds me of. It’s one of those scents that I have smelt years ago when I was younger. I love it!
The fourth product in my box is the Klorane Floral Water Makeup Remover. I do love my micellar water, so it’s great to have this in my July box. They are great at removing makeup and leaves the skin feeling very refreshed. The description says that this one contains cornflower, which gently removes face, eye and lip make up. And as this is a micellar water, there is no need to rinse the product off. I always find that a bottle of micellar water lasts me ages, as a little goes a long way.
The last product that I got in my box is the Balance Me Congested Skin Serum. The description says that this soothing serum works to balance skin and refine pores. You apply a thin layer to the skin before moisturising or you can dab directly onto blemishes as a spot treatment. I think I will definitely be trying this product out first as a spot treatment. This product also has a 4+ star review on the Birchbox website.
So that’s it, another monthly What’s In My Birchbox post. But I’m really looking forward to next months already! Don’t forget to check out my previous Birchbox posts, I will leave the links to them below. I think out of all of the products I got, I am most looking forward to using the Eeyko Fat Eye Stick and the Klorane Floral Water Makeup Remover.
