Hi everyone! Welcome to my first brand new Birchbox blog post since moving over to WordPress. You may also have noticed that I have a brand new layout and header, which I am absolutely loving. A huge thank you to Pipdig for my new layout and for helping me move from Blogger to WordPress and to Kelly for creating my amazing super cute blog header. I will be writing a brand new post very soon on moving over to WordPress just in case you have been thinking about doing the same thing too. I was so nervous to do it, but I’m so happy I did it. I would love to know your thoughts on my brand new layout. I’m still getting used to everything and learning how everything works, but I am really loving it so much. I thought it was time that Clem Loves had a bit of a makeover. I love that I have so much more control over my blog and much more freedom with it. I just need to remember to log in to WordPress when I want to write a brand new post, as I may have accidentally gone on to Blogger!
Well, we did have some really nice weather again, even if it has gone bit cooler again today. But I made the most of it and had another bbq! I also tried to get some more blog photos taken. Even though I have got my softbox light now, I still like to make the most of the sunshine and take some photos when it’s really nice and sunny. In other news this week, there’s only a couple more episodes of Once Upon A Time left, and I’m so not ready for it to end. But we’ve had a great few seasons of it and I’m gonna miss it so much. Also this next week I’ve got some really exciting book reviews coming up on Clem Loves, which I can’t wait to share with you.
I thought what better way to celebrate my move over to WordPress, by doing so with a What’s In My May Birchbox post. You can check out my previous April Birchbox post here. This is my second ever Birchbox and once again, how super cute is this months box. I’m really excited to try out all of my goodies that I got in it this month. I would love to know if you have a monthly subscription of Birchbox and if so, what you got in yours this month? This post is in no way sponsored, I have purchased this months Birchbox myself. I just love sharing the things that I love with you guys.
What’s in my May Birchbox?
This months theme is Palm Leaves & Warm Breeze. I personally think the box is stunning and so are this months products. One product in which everyone gets in their box is the Doucce Lucious Lip Stain. As this was a product that you can choose which shade you would like in advance, I chose mine in the shade Amber Rose. I really love the shade of this lip stain so much. It is a lovely gorgeous pink shade and the texture of it is really creamy. I also really like the smell of it too. Which may seem a little strange and I can’t really explain what it smells like, but it does smell nice and it’s not got an overpowering smell to it. If that makes sense! 😂
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I had got an Eyeko liquid eyeliner in my box. This one is the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in black. I’m a huge fan of eyeliner and I love wearing it. I can’t wait to try this out. It has a pen style applicator on it, which is really handy for applying eyeliner. I’m excited to do a winged eyeliner look with it. Apparently, it also has Alexa Chung’s seal of approval! It contains a fade resistant formula that lasts. There’s also a little handy tip that comes in the card too, (In each box you get a card that explains each of your products and the theme of the box) that says draw a few dots with the eyeliner close to your upper eyelashes and then just simply connect the dots. Why have I never done this before!?
The third product I got on my box is the Greenfrog Botanic, Geranium & Peppermint Botanical Bodywash. The natural body wash contains moisturising aloe vera and Saponin-rich soapberries, is cruelty-free and vegan and is free from chemical nasties. The description also says that it is great for sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis. I love that it’s great for sensitive skin, as my skin can be very sensitive. I also used to get really bad eczema all over my legs and also on my arms, so I love that this body wash is great for eczema, as especially this time of year, my legs get really sensitive still and the eczema sometimes makes a return. I get very itchy legs. I haven’t tried this one yet, but it really does look very moisturising in the bottle and it smells really lovely too. The smell reminds me of some other natural products I have tried before, so it’s a scent I like.
The next product I got is the NUXE Aquabella Micro-Exfoliating Purifying Gel. The description of this gel states that it is gentle enough for daily use and cleans away impurities without drying your skin out. It can be used morning or night. You just lather your face up with the gel and then rinse away. It contains hyaluronic acid and contains the brand’s Natural Blur Complex, which helps deliver luminosity and a refined and more even complexion. I’m not too sure if I have heard of this brand before or not, but I’m really looking forward to using this face gel. Have you tries any products before by NUXE?
Next up is the Native Unearthed, Activated Charcoal Natural Deodorant Balm. I love a good natural product and I’m really pleased that I got this one in my box. I’ve tried natural deodorants before, but not a balm one. It is all natural and helps to absorb sweat with arrowroot, antibacterial coconut oil and shea butter. It says that all you need is a pea-sized amount and apply to underarms, which forms an invisible shield. It says on the label that it also contains lavender oil. I love the smell of lavender so much. After taking the lid off and smelling the product, I can really smell the lavender, but it is quite subtle, it’s not overpowering. I’ve added a photo below so you can see what it looks like.
I really hope that you have enjoyed having a look at what I got in this months Birchbox. I love this months theme and I can’t wait to use all of the products I got. Each product is sample sized, I didn’t receive any full-size products this month, which you don’t always do, but there is definitely a generous amount of each product, which will last me quite a while. I love being able to try out new products and products by brands I may not have heard of before. The Eyeko Eyeliner and the Natural Deodorant are both 4+ star review items on the Birchbox website. I would love to know what you got in your May Birchbox? If I had to choose, the two products I think I love the most in my box are the lip stain and the eyeliner.
